Tom Paine Ale is brewed to commemorate the bicentenary of Thomas Paineās āThe Rights of Manā. It is thought that Paine helped to draft the American Declaration Of Independence. The beer is brewed to the Standard Excise Gravity of 1055Ā° in honour of the eponymous political radical who was an Excise Officer in Lewes between 1768 ā 1774.Ā
